Description: I tried reporting this incident to Leah at the bike coalition, but b/c of their on going email problems, this never reached anyone over there despite numerous attempts to send it. Yesterday evening while I was riding on my way home from work down McAllister St (the part that takes you past the block of projects), I made the mistake of going at a leisurely pace to take in the nice balmy weather. Well unfortunately when it’s nice out all the hoodlums have the same idea, except their idea of fun also involves throwing things at passing cyclists. I got hit pretty hard, which made me lose control for a moment. I fell and hurt my hand quite badly but I supposed it could’ve been much worse. (Typing hurts like hell.) I reported this incident to the police afterward, and the guys to came to take my report aptly told me that I wasn’t the first victim and certainly won’t be the last. I was wondering if you’ve heard any similar accounts and more importantly, is there any solution we can look into? I no longer feel comfortable having to ride through that part of McAllister. thanks for listening, Jeannie
