A Handy Guide for all Stanford Students

Let’s face it. This site pretty much sucks. But, let me explain! This site sucks because about a year ago Bitter Cyclist was attacked by some hacker who put up a YouTube video of Turkish militants defeating British occupation (don’t ask me why). I had to rebuild the site from scratch, and my hasty construction caused this site to suck. Since this site sucks so bad, I wanted to point out a few things that used to be cool and now kind of suck, but at least you won’t have to waste a lot of your time looking around, right? The content is sliced into a few simple categories:
- Stories about my hatered of cars and the people who drive them. I’m almost fully recovered now. That’s why I rarely write on this site. I pretty much keep my posts on my moneymaker: DesignCrack.com
- How-To Articles. You need to learn a bit about how to prepare for a bike tour? Here’s where to go. It’s a passion.
- Travel and Touring (mainly by bike). I do this a lot. Here are some of my flickr photos to prove it.
- Bike accident stories straight from the victims. I made a google map mashup a couple of years ago that never really caught on (maybe because it sucked). But at least 30 people or so wrote their horror stories. Here’s one of my personal favorites. Feel free to add your own by emailing me.
- Pictures of Pretty Bikes and Other Random Stuff.
- That’s all you get on this site.
Finally, I’d like to make a shameless plug for my other site: DesignCrack.com. If all the students in Jonathan Hunt’s writing classes sign up for the Design Crack email newsletter (aptly named: The Crack Dealer) I promise to leverage any blackmailing or other methods on Jon such that you will all receive an A for this class. If this is one of those hippie schools that no longer give grades, then I will make sure that a satisfactory review is made of your work. If someone in your class does not sign up, then the deal is off and you’ve at least signed up for a pretty interesting newsletter. Tell your friends to sign up as well!
